FIRST AID: THE LIFE SAVING SKILL EVERY ONE SHOULD KNOW

INTRODUCTION:
Currently, global temperatures
are the highest they’ve been in recorded history. Earth is going through a
rapid, man made warming trend, meaning that we are on the brink of an
environmental disaster. Global warming is the long term rise of the Earth’s
average surface temperature. CO2 emissions from human activity are the main
driver of global warming. Burning fossil fuels like natural gas, oil and coal
releases heat trapping gases in to the atmosphere. These gases form a “blanket”
around Earth that traps energy from the sun. Earth's atmosphere becomes warm as
a result of this trapped energy, which also affects the planet's temperature. It
is not just the Earth’s temperature that we must worry about in the near
future. Climate change caused by global warming has the potential to cause
various types of disasters including hurricanes, famine, drought and
displacement of species. Climate change has the potential to cause all sorts of
other risks as well. Despite all of this, global warming still does not receive
the attention it demands.
One of the most urgent problems
facing our generation is global warming. The average surface temperature of
Earth has increased by 1.62 degrees Fahrenheit since the late 19th century and
in the coming decades, it is expected to increase by another 0.3 to 1.2
degrees. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) claims that human
actions like burning fossil fuels and cutting forests are "highly
likely" to blame for this temperature rise. The effects of global warming
are already being felt by humans and natural world. The seas are rising at an
accelerating rate and extreme weather events such as heat waves, droughts and
hurricanes are becoming more common. World Wildlife Fund (WWF) warns that the
loss of ice in Arctic could lead to the extinction of polar bears, walruses and
other animals that depend on the ice to survive. This melting ice is causing
sea levels to rise, which is putting coastal communities at risk of flooding
and erosion. Additionally, the warm temperatures are causing extreme weather
events like droughts, wild fires and hurricanes to become more frequent and
more intense.
CLIMATE
CHANGE IS REAL:
There is now overwhelming
evidence that climate change is real and is causing serious problems for our
planet. Climate change is caused by a build up of greenhouse gases in the
atmosphere, which trap heat and cause the Earth’s average temperature to rise. This
rise in temperature is already causing extreme weather events, floods, droughts
and heat waves, which are damaging our economy, our environment and our health.
Climate change is already having a major impact on our planet and the situation
is only getting worse. If we don't take action to reduce emissions and mitigate
the effects of climate change, we are heading for disaster. Climate change is
one of the most pressing issues of our time. The evidence is clear - Earth is
warming and this warming is due to human activity. This rise in temperature is
causing a number of negative effects such as more extreme weather events,
melting polar ice caps and rising sea levels. But we need to act now - the time
to act is running out. We all need to do our part to reduce our carbon
footprint and make the Earth a livable place for generations to come.
GREENHOUSE
EFFECT AND GLOBAL WARMING:
The greenhouse effect is a
natural process that helps to regulate the Earth's temperature. It occurs when
solar radiation is trapped by the Earth's atmosphere, causing the atmosphere to
warm. This trapped heat makes the Earth's surface warmer than it would be
without the atmosphere. The greenhouse effect is vital to life on Earth, as it
keeps the planet's average surface temperature at a livable level. However,
human activity is causing the greenhouse effect to intensify, resulting in
global warming. When greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane are
released in to the atmosphere, they trap more heat, causing the Earth's temperature
to rise. The greenhouse effect is a process by which thermal radiation from the
Earth's surface is trapped by greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, causing the
atmosphere to become warmer. This effect is one of the main drivers of global
warming, which is the gradual increase of the Earth's average surface
temperature. The greenhouse effect is caused by a number of greenhouse gases
including water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane and ozone. These gases absorb
and re-emit thermal radiation, which trap heat in the atmosphere and cause the
Earth's average surface temperature to rise.
KYOTO
PROTOCOL:
Kyoto Protocol is an
international agreement that was reached in 1997 with the aim of combating
climate change. The protocol sets binding emissions targets for developed countries
and provides flexibility in how these targets can be met. It also includes
mechanisms that allow developed countries to help meet their targets by
investing in emissions reduction projects in developing countries. Kyoto
Protocol was negotiated under the United Nations Framework Convention on
Climate Change (UNFCCC) and came in to force in 2005. Since the adoption of the
protocol, there have been a number of challenges in achieving its goals. In
2012, the protocol was extended with the aim of further reducing emissions and
keeping the world on track to meet its climate goals. As of 2020, 193 countries
have ratified the Kyoto Protocol, making it one of the most widely ratified
international treaties. The protocol has been successful in reducing emissions
in developed countries but it has come under criticism for not doing enough to
address the issue of climate change. Under the protocol, developed countries
agreed to reduce their emissions of greenhouse gases while developing countries
agreed to take measures to reduce their emissions as well.
WHAT
CAN YOU DO TO HELP REDUCE GLOBAL WARMING?:
Global warming is a major
problem that we are facing today. Earth is getting warmer and this is causing
many problems for the environment and for humanity. We need to do something to
reduce global warming and there are a few things we can perform to help: First,
we can reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. We can use more renewable energy
sources like solar and wind power. We can also use more energy efficient
technologies to help reduce our energy consumption. Second, we can help to
reduce deforestation. Trees play a vital role in absorbing carbon dioxide and
so by reducing deforestation, we can help to reduce the amount of carbon
dioxide in the atmosphere. Third, we can help to reduce our greenhouse gas
emissions. We can do this by driving less, eating less meat and recycling more.
Another important thing you can do is to recycle and use less plastic. You can
also educating yourself and others about climate change and its effects.
By taking these actions, you
can help make a difference in the fight against global warming. Every little
bit helps, and the more people that do their part, the better chance we have of
slowing down climate change and preserving our planet. To prevent the worst
effects of climate change, we need to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. This
means changing the way we produce and use energy as well as the way we travel,
build and farm. Individuals can make a difference by reducing their own
emissions and by supporting policies and businesses that are working to reduce
emissions. Here are some specific things you can do to help:
- Use less energy at home by
installing energy efficient appliances /
lighting and using less water.
- Drive less by carpooling,
biking or taking public transportation.
- Recycle and compost to reduce
the amount of waste going in to landfills.
- Support renewable energy
sources like solar and wind power.
CONCLUSION:
Clearly, global warming is a
serious issue that demands the attention of whole world. In order to mitigate
the effects of climate change, we need to work together to reduce our carbon
emissions and make our planet a cleaner and healthier place for all. Leading
scientists have repeatedly warned that we must take immediate action to reduce
greenhouse gas emissions, if we are to avoid the worst effects of global
warming. We must take action now to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases and
slow down the process of global warming. The good news is that we can take
action to reduce climate change. By switching to renewable energy, planting
trees and reducing our consumption, we can help to slow down climate change and
protect our planet for future generations. By making simple changes in our
daily lives, we can all help to reduce our impact on the environment and slow
the progression of climate change. Let's all do our part to safeguard the
environment for upcoming generations. The planet is already experiencing the
consequences of climate change and these will become more severe in the future.
To avoid the most catastrophic outcome, we must act now to reduce greenhouse
gas emissions and prepare for the impacts of climate change. We must take
action now to mitigate the effects of climate change and prevent further damage
to our planet.
